The current MRG committee year is coming to and end and we are seeking nominations to stand for election for the period April 2008 to March 2009.

If you feel you can contribute to helping the MRG maintain or improve it’s position as an organisation that promotes the excellence of our members’ work please put your name forward for election. If you are considering standing but are unsure of what’s involved, please ask any of the current committee who would be happy to talk through their responsibilities with you.

The MRG committee is made up of 9 people and each has different roles and responsibilities. If elected to the committee you will be expected to commit for one year at least and are welcome to re-stand at the end of that year. One committee member serves as chair – in view of the fact that one of the chairs responsibilities is to organise the biennial European conference, once appointed the Chair will stand for re-election at the end of the overseas conference year. 

The work the MRG committee carries out is voluntary and although the work is not too onerous it has been decided that the Chair should be split between 2 this year due to the heavier commitment in organising the conference. This means that there are 7 positions available for the 2008-2009 year. The only conditions for standing being that you have completed one year’s membership and that no two people from the same organisation serve in the same year.

Voting will take place from March 17th to 28th.

MRG CALL FOR CONFERENCE PAPERS

We recently announced the call for papers for this years MRG overseas conference which will be held in Lisbon between the 5th and 8th of November.

We would like the conference to reflect the breadth and diversity of the work we are involved in and to highlight how we are meeting the challenges that are faced in our industry.

Closing date for papers is the 29th of Februart 2008. All we need at this stage is an outline of your propsed paper on one A4 sheet.
