TouchPoints 3 (IPA)
How the nation is really divided, to Tweet or not to Tweet?
These days so many more communication channels are available to us all. Some of us embrace the new with enthusiasm, and some take longer to see the benefits of new world communication. Do these new channels separate or unite us? What impact does our use of them have on our everyday lives?
Taking the findings from the very latest TouchPoints survey, we want to really understand the dynamics of communication. Which communication channels are available to us and how are they being used. How has this changed in the past five years or so.
What is the impact in our lives of social networking? Is this a shared or a solitary activity? When are the key times when social networking is at its peak. Which technology is used most to provide the right platform? What is the context of the "conversations" that are going on?
If there is so much "noise" around how much of it is off line as opposed to online? If we consider offline communication - or Word of Mouth then who are the people that are catalysts of influence? Taking the work we have done in conjunction with world leading word of mouth experts Keller Fay, we will investigate these catalysts and look at their relationship with media. We will also investigate the context of their media consumption.
This view of social networking and word of mouth will be presented by Lynne Robinson and Belinda Beeftink from the IPA.
Please respond as soon as possible if you would like to attend. If for any reason at a later date you can’t make the meeting please let us know, as there is likely to be a waiting list.
