Youth in Flux

Emma Couch, Research Director for Comedy Central and MTV UK will present the latest study on young people from Viacom's Global Consumer Insights Team - Youth in Flux. Youth in Flux is a global study of 16-24s today, their individual and collective goals and the life strategies they use to survive and thrive in this difficult world. We discovered how young people today are wise beyond their years, tell you about their love/hate relationship with technology and explore these three life strategies that they are using simultaneously to cope with the tensions of modern daily life: Unapologetic, Sensitive and Restless. We'll share some thought-provoking insights and of course talk about the implications for brands.

Get with the programmes: unlocking the power of TV partnerships 

Thinkbox's Head of Research, Nicole Greenfield-Smith, will share Thinkbox's latest findings (conducted by both House 51 and YouGov) about the power of programme partnerships.   The ground-breaking study explores all of the aspects of TV sponsorship from how it works on the brain to how those psychological effects translate into positive brand health for advertisers.

What is the role of connected screens in a frictionless future?

After a decade of adoption, most homes now have a settled repertoire of connected screens of varying size and functionality.  Mediatel's Connected Screens survey was set up three years ago to track exactly how consumers juggle those screens to access content and advertising.  In just three years we have seen some vital trends emerge but now a potential new era is imminent with a the rise of voice recognition potentially ushering in a frictionless future. What does this mean for how people navigate between screens? 

Anne and Richard will be giving a hot-off-the-press overview of the latest 7th wave of Connected Screens which was released in August 2017, as well as a preview of its new companion survey Video and Voice.

Anne Tucker is Head of Research at Mediatel, following 20 years in the creative and media industry.

Richard Marks is a Research Consultant and has worked with Anne to establish and interpret the Connected Screens survey.
