JICMAIL - The Launch of a New Industry Currency

JICMAIL is the new media planning currency for ad mail. The third largest medium finally has a currency to call its own. JICMAIL now provides the direct mail industry with a standardized media measurement system. Where once media planning processes assumed that mail had a single impact upon delivery to a household, JICMAIL has proven that, across different mail types, advertiser categories and target audiences, mail is seen by multiple people in the household, multiple times, resulting in impressive commercial response. Join David Brennan and Ian Gibbs as they describe the epic four year journey in bringing JICMAIL to the market.

Speak Easy

Jeremy Pounder, Futures Director at Mindshare brings to life the award winning project Speak Easy, a study conducted together with JWT, exploring the rise of voice technology and the implications for brands.

Can Shakespeare still shock in Virtual Reality? Implications for research

How does emotional response differ from that of real life experience, and hence are there opportunities and potential of VR as a tool for immersive commercial research? Richard Garnham and Ellie Brooke from Ipsos take us through an innovative study exploring unchartered territory of immersing customers into a 360 VR environment for more than 3.5 hours. The study (a collaboration between The Royal Shakespeare Company, Ipsos and Gorilla In The Room) compared three groups of participants who either attended a live theatre production of Titus Andronicus (Shakespeare's bloodiest play), a live cinema production of the performance or a 360° video of a theatre performance from a front row seat in the Royal Shakespeare Theatre. Results indicate that VR's potential to replicate real world context as well as the mindset of the real world should allow research to better access consumer reality.
