Exploring how video ads work

Rohan Gifford, Research Manager at Google UK will present a summary of recent research conducted to help brands use YouTube (and more generally video) as effectively and efficiently as possible. This session will cover various of methodologies combining internal data and third party research, and including dimensions such as frequency, brand lift by device and the relationship between creative characteristics and content engagement on ad performance. 

The secret life of kids

Disney and FreshMinds will share the story of a truly innovative project which used passive tracking to get to the heart of how children engage with short-form and online video content with full parental consent. As well as sharing some of the most interesting findings from the research, Jennifer Thomson (Disney) and Catherine Crump (FreshMinds) will investigate the implications that passive tracking technology has for the wider research industry, and how it can be used to understand the digital lives of consumers more broadly.

Getting Vocal: Radio in a voice-activated future

Michael Hill, founder and MD of Radioplayer, and Mark Barber, Planning Director of Radiocentre, present new UK research into ownership and usage of Amazon Echo. Exploring the fast-growing world of voice-activated devices, the session considers the technical challenges of making radio content discoverable through this technology, explores the implications for radio listening, and takes a look at what's coming next.
