PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

This is a great opportunity for someone to manage our award winning online audience panel (work.shop.play.) on a day to day basis!

Working within the research team, the role of Senior Research Executive requires a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with survey writing experience.

The individual will work closely to support the sales teams with insights from our award winning online audience panel. They will also be involved with bespoke research, pitch response work, campaign analysis and deliver strategic insights to the entire business to drive revenue.

We have numerous projects on-the-go for them to get involved with, it will depend entirely on the individual's strengths and skills as to how they drive these projects and the team forward. It is essential that the candidate for this role should be experienced in questionnaire design, project management, highly numerate and analytical, with the ability to use data to generate creative ideas and analysis which they can confidently present.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

They will work with the Head of Research, a Senior Research Executive and guide a new Junior Research Executive on the team to generate commercial, pioneering and topical insights.

The Senior Research Executive's main responsibility will involve the day to day management of the Exterion Media online audience panel work.shop.play., although they will also be expected to work with other members of the team to collaborate on data led projects; such as planning and measuring campaign effectiveness studies.

work.shop.play. is a vital resource to Exterion and it has changed the way insights are delivered within the business which requires the following responsibilities:

  • Planning and project management of research studies and initiatives using the panel
  • Collating and managing business requirements from all internal stakeholders
  • Designing of questionnaires that incorporate the needs of different areas of the business
  • Scripting, programming and deploying surveys and forums (using the provided software supplied by Vision Critical)
  • Creative and timely analysis of results to provide insights and information to the sales team
  • Presenting and communicating panel research results to the business on a regular basis
  • Attending external meetings with the Sales teams to present the audience insights derived from the panel
  • Monitoring the health and quality of the panel and thinking strategically about how we utilise 11,000 members to provide pioneering insights
  • Working with our clients and agencies (e.g. 7stars, Talon) and partners (e.g. Time Out and TfL) to develop research studies that help to drive panel engagement
  • Implement a sustainable panel recruitment strategy and ensure plans are delivered

As well as day to day management of the audience panel, the Senior Research Executive will be required to be involved in the following responsibilities that lie within the research team's remit:

  • Writing surveys briefed by PR agency or for bespoke Research
  • Work closely with the team at Culture of Insight, to develop and maintain our digital research dashboards which provide access to top line category data
  • Working closely with voxpopme to generate insightful video showreels using our panel
  • Support in writing and presenting ad-hoc campaign research working with Dipsticks
  • Working closely with the Marketing & Design team to create innovative research initiatives
  • The writing of research presentations and case studies where needed
  • Providing ad hoc support for pitch responses, client presentations, and marketing decks
  • Using large data sets to create well-rounded insightful factsheets on client target audiences
  • Analysis and sharing of market trends using multiple sources e.g. Touchpoints, Route
  • Desk research using industry sources to generate category insight e.g. Mintel, Warc
  • Be involved with online focus groups and F2F panel member interview discussions
  • Provide necessary support to the Head of Research
  • Work with our Data team (and data tools e.g. Tableau, ABI) to utilise TfL & Telefonica data 
  • Provide support & insight to franchise teams where necessary
  • Raising the profile of the Research team, both within Exterion Media and externally amongst media agencies and the outdoor industry through delivering innovative and actionable research.
  • Develop and raise the profile our insights on the Exterion Media website currently tracking increased traffic y-o-y due to the hard work of the team in disseminating our insights

  • Understanding of industry research for other media (Barb, NRS, Rajar, Route etc) - desirable
