Wellbeing with the MRG – A guided meditation to help you switch off and relax

We have mostly all been working from home for some time now but many of us are still struggling to switch from ‘work’ to ‘home’ mode at the end of our working day. This is unhealthy and inevitably adds to our feelings of stress.  We all need to learn how to stop and let go of work and so we have asked Julie Hamshere to share some learnings and good practice with us by way of a guided meditation.

Julie is a fellow MRG-er and was on the committee for many years.  She has been a qualified Hypno-psychotherapy practitioner for over 10 years and is a practicing reflexologist. She started on this path some years ago after a serious accident when she started to investigate alternative ways of coping with pain. At the time, as a media researcher, neuroscience was increasingly being used for consumer research and, as she looked more into this she realised the importance of our subconscious mind in behaviour change. She soon found the link to hypnosis as a tool for pain management by way of the subconscious and was quickly hooked on how great she felt as a result, much calmer and more able to cope.

This session will give you the chance to switch off after your day, experiencing breathing and visualisation techniques all whilst in a wonderfully relaxed state. By creating a state of relaxation using hypnosis techniques, it is possible to access the subconscious mind where it becomes open and receptive to suggestion and positive reinforcement. This ‘trance’ state allows you to become more focused, pushing the critical conscious mind into the background…. and this is when change happens!

You don't have to be in a deep sleep to experience the benefits, a meditative state is sufficient and most of us can and do achieve this on a daily basis.

We hope it will be a really useful session but also great fun (in a calm and relaxing way!) so make yourself comfortable and join Julie on 11th March at 5pm and permit yourself to switch off! It is free to all MRG members so book your ticket for this Zoom session below.  Places are limited so get in quick, and then please let us know if you end up not being able to join us.

We’re looking to run some other Wellbeing sessions so please let me know if you have any thoughts/ideas/wishes.

Any questions, please let me know at frances.sheardown@kantar.com.
