Laura Rowe, Managing Partner, Head of Decisions Science @ OMD UK will be presenting the ‘The farce of class x The real Britain series’. The Farce of Class is the fifth volume of this research and takes an in depth look into the role that class plays for people in the UK. Classism is one of the most acceptable forms of discrimination in society and the workplace and is extraordinarily complex. The paper won best at paper at the London conference 2024 and we are delighted to invite Laura back to reprise this award winning paper at a content session
Laurie Kearns, Insight Manager - Scripted, BBC Studios and Konrad Collao, Founder, Craft Separated By A Common Language? How UK Stories Land in US Culture.
BBC Studios and Craft set out to understand the opportunities for British scripted content in the USA, to directly inform the kinds of programmes BBC Studios makes and invests in. Through a combination of a semiotic content analysis and qualitative research, the study showed that to stand the greatest chance of being successful, British content needs to choose whether to embrace, mitigate, or avoid Britishness - and choose which kinds of Britishness to embrace.
Beth Abell, Research Manager at Differentology and Therese Eriksson, VP Sales – Media at Dynata will present ‘Power To The Viewer’, Exploring the Rise of Professional content on Consumer-Centric Platforms
This collaboration project will bring to life the current shift in media owners seeking to prioritise access to their content on ‘consumer-centric platforms’ (like YouTube. Spotify, TikTok etc.) channels alongside their own platform assets. The study looks to understand current consumer attitudes and usage as well as key content trends to help inform future platform strategies.
